Julie Nielsen CVT
Julie is our Head technician and has been with the clinic since 1998. A 1979 graduate of Portland Community College’s Veterinary Technology program, her many years of experience are invaluable. Julie has a special interest in veterinary geriatrics. Outside the clinic she is the mother of two daughters and participates in and judges AKC Earthdog and Field Trials with her Longhaired Dachshunds.
Erik Campen CVT
An Oregon native and graduate of Oregon State University, Erik completed the Veterinary Technology program at PCC in 2005. Having worked at HEAC during one of his internships, he was offered a position upon graduation. Away from work, Erik is an avid SCUBA diver, hiker and skier (he is now trying his hand at snowboarding). Erik and his wife Kim are members of Cascade Dockdogs with their three Golden Retrievers, Sasha, Ashleigh and Picasso. Within the last year, they have trained two of their dogs to hunt buried truffles and are members of NW Truffle Dogs, with Sasha winning her first ever tournament entered over 25 other competitors.
Tami Zak CVT
Tami is a 1999 graduate of Houston Community College’s Veterinary Paramedic Program. In 2001, Tami decided to move back to Oregon where she worked as a vet tech at clinics in the area , coming to Halsey East Animal Clinic in 2008. Tami has a special interest in veterinary dentistry and radiology. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her twin girls, husband and her 2 dogs.
Susan Werner
Susan joined the HEAC team in July, 2011 after moving to Oregon from California. She came with 7 years of experience as a veterinary receptionist in both regular DVM and emergency clinics. She now works as an assistant, helping both doctors and technicians. Susan is also an Emergency Medical Technician/Firefighter with Multinomial County Rural Fire Department #14 (Corbett). When she’s not at work, camping, or hiking, Susan spends her time at home in Corbett with her two dogs - Puddles and Bandit, and her two cats - Hefner and Mac.
Heath Curry
Heath comes to HEAC with 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. Heath has worked in equine reproduction, equine surgery, mix animal practice and small animal surgery and general practice. His areas of special interest are anesthesia and canine behavior.
Heath is a full time pre-law student and enjoys photography in his spare time, as well as hiking the Northwest with his two dogs Boomer (German Shorthaired pointer) and Lukas (Black Labrador Retriever).
Angela Poore CVT
Angela is from the Boring, Oregon area but keeps life exciting spending time with her cat and 4 dogs. Angela has spent 13 years in the veterinary field, 8 of those years as a licensed CVT.
Erin Rogers CVT
Erin comes all the way from Wisconsin and is a recent graduate of the PCC Vet Tech program. Prior to her formal schooling Erin has 2 years of dog handling experience. In her time away from the clinic Erin likes to socialize with friends, go to the river, camping and hiking. She would like to let everyone know that she loves tiny kittens.
